Interior Painting Winnipeg

A freshly painted home feels different — cleaner, more finished, more like yours. If you've been living with the same walls for years, you probably stopped seeing them. Until the light hits at the right angle and suddenly you notice the scuffs, the faded patches, the colour that made sense in 2012 but doesn't quite anymore. Integrity Painting has been doing interior painting in Winnipeg since 1992. We work cleanly, communicate clearly, and treat your home with the same care we'd want in our own

Interior Painting Is Year-Round Work

Unlike exterior painting, interior painting doesn't have a season. You can refresh a bedroom in February, repaint a kitchen in November, or tackle the whole main floor in the middle of January. That means no waiting for the right weather window, no competing with every other homeowner who wants to book in May.

It also means we can schedule around what works for your household — whether that's a slow week in spring, a renovation gap, or a pre-listing push to get the house ready for market. We work efficiently and keep disruption minimal. Most single-room projects are completed in a day. Larger whole-home repaints are typically staged so you're never without a functional living space.

Interior painting is also one of the most cost-effective ways to meaningfully change the feel of your home. New colour, clean walls, freshly painted trim — it's a transformation that shows up immediately and holds up for years when done right.

Our Process for Interior Projects

Interior painting requires a different kind of care than exterior work — you're working inside someone's home, around their furniture, their floors, their belongings.

Step 1 — Estimate and scope. We walk through the spaces you want painted, discuss colour choices if needed, and note any repairs required. You get a clear written estimate before anything starts.

Step 2 — Protection and preparation. Before any paint comes out, everything that isn't being painted gets protected. Furniture is moved or covered. Drop sheets go down on every floor. Switch plates, outlet covers, and hardware are removed. We mask trim, windows, and ceilings where needed. Walls get patched and sanded — nail holes, scuffs, hairline cracks — so the surface is clean and ready. We don't skip prep to save time.

Step 3 — Priming. New drywall, repaired areas, and surfaces where the colour change is significant get primed. This is what separates a paint job that lasts from one that needs to be redone in three years.

Step 4 — Application. We cut in by hand around all edges before rolling fields. Two coats is standard for most interior work. We maintain consistent coverage and take our time on the finish work — trim lines, corners, and ceiling cuts are where the quality shows.

Step 5 — Cleanup and walkthrough. Drop sheets come up, furniture goes back, hardware gets reinstalled. We walk through the finished spaces with you before we leave. Touch-ups happen on the spot.

Why Homeowners in Winnipeg Choose Integrity Painting

We've been working in Winnipeg homes since 1992 — bungalows and wartime houses in the older neighbourhoods, newer builds in the suburbs, two-storeys across the city. Over 30 years, we've learned that what homeowners care about most isn't just the final colour — it's that the job was done carefully, the home was left clean, and the people doing it were trustworthy and on time.

Richard, our Red Seal Journeyman Painter with 15+ years of experience, ensures the work meets a professional standard on every project. Red Seal is a nationally recognized trades credential — it means demonstrated skill, not just experience on the tools.

We're BBB accredited since 2008, WCB compliant, and members of the Painting and Decorating Contractors of America (PDCA).

Our satisfaction guarantee: you get the most thorough painting job you've ever seen, or we'll repaint for free. That's the commitment — no fine print.

You work with a dedicated point of contact from estimate to completion. Clear timelines, clear communication, and a crew that cleans up after themselves.

Frequently Asked Questions — Interior Painting Winnipeg

How long does interior painting take?

It depends on the scope. A single room with standard ceilings typically takes one to two days including preparation, two coats, and cleanup. A full main floor repaint might be three to five days. Whole-home projects are usually staged over multiple days so you always have a functional space. We give you a realistic timeline at the estimate stage, and we stick to it.

Do I need to move furniture before the painters arrive?

We prefer that large pieces — sofas, beds, dining tables — are moved away from the walls before we arrive, as it speeds up the setup process. We can move lighter furniture ourselves and cover everything that stays in the room with drop sheets and plastic sheeting. If you're not sure what to move, just ask when we do the estimate walkthrough.

What kind of paint do you use for interior walls?

We use quality interior latex paints — the specific product depends on the surface, the room, and the level of finish required. High-traffic areas like kitchens, bathrooms, and hallways typically call for a semi-gloss or satin finish that's easier to clean. Living areas and bedrooms are usually done in eggshell or flat finishes. We'll walk you through options at the estimate stage and recommend what makes sense for each space.

Can you paint over dark colours without it bleeding through?

Yes, but it requires the right approach. Going from a dark colour to something much lighter typically requires a quality primer first — sometimes tinted to match the new colour — before the topcoats go on. Skipping this step is why some paint jobs require three or four coats to get proper coverage. We factor this into our estimates rather than surprising you partway through the job.

Do you do colour consultations?

We can advise on colour selection and help you think through how colours will work in a space, but we're not formal interior designers. What we can tell you is how a specific colour will read in different light conditions in your home, whether a finish will work on a particular surface, and what to expect with certain colour combinations. If you want professional colour consulting, we can point you in the right direction.
